Case Study – Highfields Park Adventure Golf

May of 2017, Nottingham saw the opening of a brand-new adventure golf course, themed on the town of Nottingham itself. With 18 designed and themed, playable holes; fitted with the best Artificial Grass, Wonder Yarn 26mm and WetPour Pathways that connect the whole course together. Adventure Golf Solutions fitted and installed synthetic golf and fringe surfaces on the 1200 metre course. Winning the ‘Which? Best Buy Award in 2016’ was a major success and as a result, saw visitors come and play in their thousands over the May Bank Holiday Weekend.

The multi-million-pound investment to revamp and restore Nottingham’s Highfield Park included the installation of the golf course. Also, restoration took place on the boating house by the lake, bowling greens and croquet lawns at the same time. Using locally themed designs for the whole project, Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest were two of the major designs. Also, local sports teams including football and cricket were featured as designs, along with Beeston Lake and the City of Caves.

Quotes were taken from the Highfields Park Adventure Golf Site Manager, Jordan Foster, who said “Our first weekend was very successful, with people commenting on the local design of the golf course. Visitors also mentioned how good the quality of the Golf surface is. The golf course will be popular with families for some summer fun.”. Highfields Park Project Manager, Josh, quoted “I have worked on many golf courses with my team. This one in particular was fun to work on because of the local themes design. The location is also fantastic and the project to revamp Highfields Park will help to attract more people to the area. Artificial Grass is ideal for golf courses because it is resilient and durable under all weather conditions. The synthetic surface doesn’t become muddy or damaged in bad weather like natural grass does.”.

The success of the development and thriving demand for Adventure Golf continued that season, which led to further developments of Highfield Park. The 18-hole Golf Course was joined by a brand-new Fun Golf area and state of the art 9-hole Mini FootGolf course. To date, the success of Highfield Park, Nottingham is ongoing.
